Woodfired Mushroom Mug

Wood fired in a train kiln called "anagama", this piece harness natures elements fully - water and earth in the making process, fire in the finishing process and air in the 2 week cooling process. This piece fired in a wood-fueled kiln for 6 days, and no glaze was applied to the exterior. All surface color and decoration you see is from melted wood ash and materials within the clay coming to the surface through the alchemical process of firing.

Decorated with hand crafted mushrooms on leather hard clay.
