Reishi Mushroom Planter

Wood fired in a train kiln called "anagama", this planter harnesses natures elements fully - water and earth in the making process, fire in the finishing process and air in the 2 week cooling process. This piece fired in a wood-fueled kiln for 6 days, and no glaze was applied to pot before firing. All surface color and decoration you see is from melted wood ash and materials within the clay coming to the surface through the alchemical process of firing. The speckles and swirls you see throughout are from wedging (mixing) wild clay foraged in Oregon into the main clay body before throwing the vessel. Glassy surfaces are from melted wood ash. Hand crafted mushrooms gently adorn the outer walls. ✨
