Wood-soda fired in a catenary arch kiln nicknamed "chicken cat", this mug harnesses natures elements fully - water and earth in the making process, fire in the finishing process and air in the 2 week cooling process. This piece fired in a wood-fueled kiln for 6 days, and no glaze was applied to pot before firing, only a liner glazed interior to ensure it holds liquids and is good safe. All surface color and decoration you see is from melted wood ash and soda ash, and materials within the clay coming to the surface through the alchemical process of firing. Magic, right? ✨
