Wood-soda fired vase with delicately crafted barnacles caressing one side. This piece fired in a wood-fed kiln for 3 days, and the blue/grey you see comes from a mixture of soda ash and water that is lathered on slabs of wood and stoked into the kiln part way through. The red tones are from iron in the clay and the wood ash melt.
